BIOGRAFÍA

Dr. Mercè Madre is a psychiatrist at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, where she is the coordinator of the Addictive Behaviour Unit, at the Department of Psychiatry. She holds a European PhD in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and is a researcher linked to the Sant Pau Research Institute (IR-Sant Pau).

She was an Honorary Research Assistant at the Mental Health Unit of University College London (U.K.), where she collaborated on neuroimaging projects. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and participates in the Master’s program in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing.

She is a member of the scientific society Socidrogalcohol, of which she is part of its Autonomous Committee, and also member of the Catalan Society of Psychiatry and Mental Health (SCPiSM). She has contributed as an organizer and member of the annual scientific committees for the Resistant Pathologies conference, organized by the FIDMAG Research Foundation. Her primary expertise lies in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders and psychiatric comorbidities among substance users, dual diagnosis.
