BIOGRAFIA

Dr. Maria Iglesias-González is Consultant Psychiatrist and Head of the Liaison-Consultation Psychiatry Unit at Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol in Badalona, Barcelona (Spain). She is also an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

She has developed her professional activity in the field of hospitalization, with special emphasis in psychosomatic psychiatry and affective disorders. She has worked at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu, in Sant Boi de Llobregat (2015-2018) and at Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol (2018 to the present).

Regarding scientific activity, her focus is on depressive disorders and motor and psychopathological symptoms in mental disorders throughout life. Dr. Maria Iglesias-González defended her doctoral thesis in 2019 on the effectiveness of the treatment of depression in the field of primary care, obtaining a Cum Laude mention. Since then, she has been an attached researcher at the Center for Biomedical Research in the Epidemiology and Public Health Network (CIBERESP) (CB16/02/00322) and has collaborated in several competitive projects. She has participated as a speaker at national and international congresses on psychiatry. Currently, she has several high-impact indexed scientific publications in the field of mental health and public health and has also published several chapters in works on psychiatry.

She is a member of the board of the Catalan Society of Psychiatry and Mental Health and an active member in various working groups within the Society.
