BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Sugranyes currently works as a Senior Specialist in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology Service of the Institute of Neurosciences of the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona and is Junior Group Leader of a Research Group of the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS). within the 50/50 Hospital Clinic/IDIBAPS program. She is also a researcher for the CIBERSAM G04, UBNeuro and 2017SGR881 groups and is accredited as Associate Professor by the Catalan Agency for University Quality. He has supervised a doctoral thesis with a European Doctor Mention and supervises three other doctoral theses in progress at the University of Barcelona, ​​three master's theses (CIBERSAM Interuniversity Master's Degree and Autonomous University of Barcelona) and two graduate theses (University of Barcelona, ​​University Pompeu Fabra). She also leads a Marie-Skodolska Post-doctoral Fellow in her team within the BITRECS program. She is the author of more than 60 original papers, with an H-index of 20 and 12,340 citations, and has been principal investigator of 9 national and international competitive research projects.

She has received international awards (NARSAD Young Investigator Award 2017, European Psychiatry Association Research Prize 2018, JAACAP Best neuroimaging paper 2016-2017) and national awards (Santiago Reig CIBERSAM Award 2020, Reference Researcher Award Spanish Society of Biological Psychiatry 2021, Young Researcher Society Award Biological Psychiatry Spanish 2017, Alicia Koplowitz Foundation Long Stay Scholarship 2009).

Her training has included stays at the New York State Psychiatric Institute of Columbia University, New York and at the Department of Psychosis Studies, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King's College of London, as a research fellow and later as a visiting researcher. Doctoral Thesis Excellent Cum Laude with European Doctor Mention directed from King's College of London, focused on the neural bases of early-onset schizophrenia.

Her research is focused on better understanding the biological bases underlying the early stages of psychotic disorders, with the aim of promoting early diagnosis and identifying therapeutic targets to improve the clinical approach to these patients.
